Each of our radically seasonal produce has its own unique story of craftsmanship which elevates it above the monotonous landscape of industrially-cultivated, year-round produce.
Building on over 10 years' experience of working with African farmers, Normah Agro Farm focuses on unleashing the productive power of the Ugandan agricultural potential.

Rice

As a cereal grain, it is the most widely consumed staple food for a large part of the world's human population in the world.
Rice is actually the seed of the grass species Oryza sativa (or Oryza glaberrima for African rice). Rice (a monocot) is normally grown as an annual plant. But in the tropical areas, the rice plants can survive as a perennial and can produce a ratoon crop for up to 30 years.

Maize

Maize has become a staple food in many parts of the world, with the total production of maize surpassing that of wheat or rice.
Its production has increased over the years as people change their consumption trends. It has evolved from a purely subsistence to a successful commercial crop. Maize is one of the most widely grown cereals in Uganda. This is so because of it is easy to bring up the crop.

Chia Seeds

Chia seeds are the edible seeds of Salvia hispanica, a flowering plant. Chia seeds reduce food cravings, help you stay hydrated, lower blood pressure & are rich in omega-3 fatty acids.
Chia seeds are one of the nutritoius and healthy foods nowadays. Chia is a new crop among many farmers in the country with a potential of doing well and earn them sweet returns.

SoyBeans/ Soya Beans

Soybeans or soya beans (Glycine max) are a type of legume native to eastern Asia. Soybeans are often eaten whole, but heavily processed soy products are much more common.
They are generally grown in a crop rotation with corn, creating good risk management for both crops by breaking disease, insect, and weed cycles, as well as managing farm workflow.

Rice

Rice is produced in a wide range of locations and under a variety of climatic conditions, from the wettest areas in the world to the driest deserts.
Rice has also fed more people over a longer time than has any other crop.
It is spectacularly diverse, both in the way it is grown and how it is used by humans.

Maize

Maize also known as corn, is actually a cereal grain which is used for many different purposes. Maize is used for many different purposes.
It is mainly used as fodder for animals, food grain, pop corn, baby corn, sweet corn and green cobs. Consuming maize is beneficial for health and maize farming is very easy both in small scale and large scale.

Chia Seeds

Chia seeds contain several components that, when eaten as part of a balanced plant-rich diet, may prevent the development of various chronic diseases.
Chia seeds can be eaten cooked or raw, but they should be added to another food or soaked before eating. Despite their small size, chia seeds are full of important nutrients.

SoyBeans/ Soya Beans

Soybeans are a common cash crop that produce at least twice as much protein per acre as most other vegetables or grains. As processed meal or oil, soybeans make their way into human and animal foods, as well as an array of nonfood industrial products and fuel.
Soy is also used in various food preparations/recipes especially for weaning babies.
